4″ Ceiling Speaker System with 70.7/100V-16W Transformer and 8Ω Bypass Designed to provide high performance in a very compact footprint, the FAP40T appeals to both system designers and architects. FAP40T is ideal for high-intelligibility voice, music, and signal reproduction in commercial, industrial, and institutional applications. A unique (patent pending) tap selector switch design allows for easy system tuning. A full selection of taps up to 16 watts as well as an 8 ohm transformer bypass setting is included for maximum system versatility. This switch “knob” also functions as a diffuser cone, providing smooth, even dispersion of the high frequency content from the center of the 4″ polypropylene driver. In fact, the high frequency response of the FAP40T is so natural that many would assume that the driver in the FAP40T was a coaxial design instead of a single cone driver. Low frequency response is enhanced by the tuned and ported enclosure design. The enclosure (UL1480 pending) is constructed of high impact injection molded plastic and includes a press fit grill design that blends quite well with contemporary architecture. A two pole terminal strip housed below a metal removable cover on the back of the FAP40T enclosure allows for easy system wiring as well as “daisy chain” wiring to other FAP40T’s or even FASUB70 subwoofers (a great combination!).

Taking one of the largest spaces in the middle of the tradeshow floor, Mindstec Distribution took to the InfoComm MEA 2012 with a big splash introducing as many as four big brands: Atlas Sound, Gefen, Magenta Research and Radio Design Labs.

Atlas Sound which has been known for its multi-product ranges in audio solutions introduced three important segments to the region- its IP-based Paging Solutions; Sound-masking for speech privacy; and loudspeakers. “Our IP-based paging solutions are best represented here by the Controlkom,” explained Mike Abernathy, responsible for International Sales and National Distribution at Atlas Sound. The Controlkom allows for live, prerecorded, or ad hoc messages along with control data to be sent over existing or new multicast enabled local area networks to Atlas Sound IP speaker, and zone controller end points powered by AF compliant POE switches (or local DC power). It incorporates solutions for the task of managing campus-wide messaging, bell scheduling, security, synchronizing clocks, intercom/paging, and much more. “We do have a range of soundmasking speaker solutions that avoid the pink noise and sound distortion, giving exact speech privacy,”

Mark Phillips of RDL explains Mike. The loudspeaker solutions include the FAT Series and more.
“We have done couple of projects before here, and found the market very encouraging; but we did not have a strong presence,” Mike said, adding, “in Mindstec, we found a strong partner who could give us good market pitch, and thus we are here.”

In September, Gefen appointed Mindstec as their distributor for the Saudi and Qatar market. On exhibit were Gefen’s KVM over IP solutions.

Magenta introduced new additions to its Voyager and MultiView lines, its core product ranges that offer complete, end- to-end solutions for fi ber and UTP-based signal switching and distribution. The centerpiece of Magenta’s exhibits was a live Voyager switching demonstration, designed to show attendees just how fast a Voyager VG-Matrix switch can shift between different types of video sources, even those with HDCP. This advancement eliminates the widespread problem of a typical system negotiating with a video source, which results in blank or black screens being displayed to end users.

The other important launch by Magenta at the InfoCommMEA 2012 are the upgrades to Magenta’s venerable MultiView series, which has served — for over 10 years — as the most adaptable solution for distribution of Pro-AV signals over UTP cable. MultiView II enhancements are all designed to make it even easier to deliver 1080p resolution (and higher) video with best-in-class performance at distances to 2,000 feet. Best of all, now MultiView does digital. Even with a copper infrastructure, it is now possible to send 1080p DVI video to 2,000 feet away, thanks to Magenta’s proprietary method of transmission over twisted pair.

RDL introduced a slew of product lines that included pre-amplifi ers, microphones and power amplifi ers and transmitters. “This is our fi rst major relationship in the region,” said Mark Phillips of RDL. “We found in Mindstec the ability to invest; complement our efforts,” he said and added, “we have a whole range of products that, done the right way, will enhance the experience of the user the way they are supposed to. We believe Mindstec has the ability to do it.”

SAS-TC8 is a wall mounted listening station for localized tabletop sound. The SAS-TC8 features source selection and volume adjustment buttons which are sealed touch controls that protect the internal circuitry. Because the sound is localized to the table area, people at adjacent tables may clearly and audibly listen to different sources. The selector allows the users to pick one of eight possible sources, or no source (off). Volume may be ramped up or down. This unit also features ULTRASTYLE™ design rugged metal enclosure and has an integral speaker or remote speaker connection. If system power is turned off, all listening stations in the system power up at minimum level.

SAS-SM8A Sonic Mushroom™ is a tabletop monitor speaker with built-in user source selector, source display, and volume adjustment. Source…

SAS-SM8A Sonic Mushroom™ is a tabletop monitor speaker with built-in user source selector, source display, and volume adjustment. Source selection and volume adjustment are all electronic, using touch controls on the top of the mushroom. The SAS-SM8A disburses sound in three directions onto a table top. It is ideally installed on a small table surrounded by people such as those in sports clubs. Because the sound is localized to the table area, people at adjacent tables may clearly and audibly listen to different sources. The selector allows the users to pick one of eight possible sources, or no source (off). Volume may be ramped up or down. If system power is turned off, all SM8s in the system power up at minimum level.
